Perfect size for the fire pit
Needed something smaller than river rock for a fire pit patio out near Ennis and this fit the bill at five tons. Doesn't scatter as bad as true pea gravel once it settles in, stays put under the chairs, and the color is a nice even gray that matches the stone on the house.

Good bedding, dustier this batch
Used six tons of the eighty nine for paver bedding on a walkway job near Three Forks. Packs well and graded evenly, though this batch ran a bit dustier than the last order, so we hosed everything down before laying the pavers on top.

Pavers still tight after winter
We built a paver patio behind the house in Great Falls last summer and used the number eighty nine for bedding under the pavers and filling the joints once everything was set. It compacted with a hand tamper better than the plain sand we tried on a smaller job two years ago, and swept into the joints without making a mess. Through a full winter of freeze and thaw the pavers haven't shifted or heaved at all, which was our biggest worry going in.
